Two years ago, Ray and Laura Marra decided it was time to give sailing their full attention. Avid skiers, and fitness buffs, they had been sailing their Hoby Cat around Westport, CT although it was lots of fun, it was time for something more than a day boat.

After shopping the boat shows they decided that the Oceanis 38.1 was the boat for them. With a great cockpit, innovative interior, and of course great sailing characteristics helped by dual rudders and a chined hull, the 38.1 fulfilled all their needs and then some. For two years the Marra’s sailed the boat often with their daughter Katherine most weekends and on longer cruises to places like Block Island. Yes, they had made the right move and by the second season they added a folding prop, and code zero sail.

Was the 38.1 the right choice? You betcha!
So what do you do when you have made a great choice in the boat buying business? You order a new bigger boat! This past fall the Marra’s were at the Norwalk Boat Show, fell in love with the new 46.1, ordered one with a generator, air conditioning, and just about every other option imaginable. Now they are ready for longer and further adventures.
